5 Steps To Your Most Successful Week On Social Media

I’m always trying to find ways for our clients to succeed on Social Media – while taking into account all the challenges that they come up against; lack of time, resources, ideas etc

I recently wrote a post on Social Scheduling, discussing 2 tools – Hootsuite and Buffer – which allow you to schedule all your social posts across a multitude of platforms. I highly recommend these types of tools as they can save you so much time! Have a read here.

But I appreciate that scheduling the posts can only be half of the battle. Because when it comes down to it – what should you actually be sharing? And how to you make sure you’re posting at the right time?

The average organic reach of a Facebook business post is now around 2% – meaning it’s twitter-292988_640getting tougher for your audience to even see yours posts, let alone engage with them.

So what I’m asking you to do in this post is one thing – set aside around 1 – 2 hours on a Friday afternoon and schedule your social posts for the following week using either Buffer or Hootsuite (if you’re new to scheduling, I suggest Buffer).

Doing this will just give you a taste of how easy it can be to manage your social platforms – to really achieve high engagement and overall success on Social Media you will need to take a closer look at your content marketing.

  1. Plan – Choose how many posts you want to do each day on which platforms. For the first week, I’d suggest sticking to 2 or 3 platforms.
  2. Don’t just talk about yourself – Make sure you don’t just spend a whole week talking about yourself. Separate your posts into 3 categories; Fun posts, educational posts & posts about yourself. This way, only a third of what you post will be about your business – but still make sure the others are relevant!
  3. Always include some content – When scheduling, make sure you include an image or link to your site or relevant site in every post. On Facebook this will increase your reach and on Twitter this will increase your engagement.
  4. Find relevant content – Dig through your website and find interesting articles or blog posts which are still relevant and accurate. Use industry websites to find articles which are relevant to your service/product and relate them back to your business. Share your thoughts on the latest industry news.
  5. Use engaging language – Keep yours posts short, sweet and to the point. Encourage users to click the links or like the images you’re sharing by using call to actions – and make sure yours posts are discoverable with hashtags.
